Neighborhood Reminder
Chelaque has an email mailing list that we use to disseminate official information and community news. To add your email to our list, contact [email protected].
Please remember that all signs (for sale or property name) must be at least 4 feet away from the edge of the road. The road edges are mowed regularly during spring and summer and these signs will prevent the mowers from doing their best job.
If you are a part-time resident or your home is on the market, please make sure your yard is maintained and grass is mowed regularly.
We all love our pets, but if your pet relieves itself in the road or in someone's front yard, please remember to move it to the side of the road so it's not stepped on by other walkers, picked up by car tires, or left for a homeowner to discard. Also remember that according to our Covenants and Restrictions, all pets must be leashed or under the control of homeowners at all times.
Chelaque members may contact the treasurer by email for financial information at [email protected]

Lots Of Activities
Chelaque Estates is close to excellent hospitals, a respected university, and restaurants that reflect the heritage of the local community.
Enjoy the Great Outdoors
Chelaque Estates is a nature lover's dream. Winding roads, shaded streets, and regular sightings of white-tail deer, flocks of wild turkeys, and a majestic bald eagle nesting site, are just part of the allure. The Southern Appalachians are also home to one of the most diverse bird populations in the world. And, with hundreds of miles of walking and hiking trails, three state parks, and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, all within a short drive, there's no end to the list of places you'll want to explore.
A Boater's Delight
If you enjoy water sports, you'll love Cherokee Lake. Covering more than 30,000 acres, the lake contains 46 species of fish including large mouth, small mouth, stripped, and white bass, crappie, walleye, sauger, bluegill, and catfish. Cherokee Lake is ideal for boating, picnicking, water skiing, and, of course, fishing. In addition, there are hundreds of rivers and streams in the area; so, for those who want to get away and go fly fishing on a quiet mountain stream, that's an option, too. Residents and property owners don't have to go far to find a favorite fishing site.
Golfing
Enjoy golf but don't want the hassle of living on a golf course? How about 30 golf courses within a 50 mile radius of your home? The closest - Clinchview Golf Club - is just a short drive from Chelaque and offers beautifully manicured fairways and putting greens. Twice a year, Chelaque residents get together for a fun filled community golf tournament followed by a cook-out.
Great Local Roads
Motorcycle and automobile enthusiasts will find this area to be absolutely perfect for a scenic or exhilarating ride. All within a day ride are roads that many people travel from around the world to experience. These include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains, and of course RT 129 (aka Tail of the Dragon).
Shopping
The two little towns just a few miles from our gate contain a conveniently located grocery store, pharmacy, and gas stations. Local shopping is available at the College Square Mall in Morristown, while Knoxville, Kingsport and the vacation resort communities of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are just an hour away. Areas surrounding the Great Smoky Mountains contain a large selection of local artisan shops and communities.
